It is with a heavy heart that I come to you today with an update on ABC Learning Adventures Preschool. The ABC Preschool Board has voted to close the Preschool permanently. I am so sorry to bring you this news as I was so hopeful that the effects of Covid 19 would be long resolved and that we would be able to reopen as originally planned.
As all of you know, the uncertainty of the Pandemic has been the catalyst in so many decisions pertaining to so many facets of our lives. We, as a staff and Board had to weigh very carefully the heavy weight of whether to re-open the Preschool in terms based solely on whether we felt it would be 100% safe for our children to participate in the program. We have been diligent in following the various regulations and restrictions set forth by the State to date. Although the extensive and daunting list of protocols set forth by the State has lessened somewhat, we felt that in order to keep families and staff safe, we would not be able to move forward with re-opening. This decision to close was made with the greatest degree of care, concern, and thought.
Due to some of the required State mandates that are still in place, we felt that it would create a giant climate of change in the way we would be able to nurture, comfort, care for and offer your children the warmth and love so associated with ABC Learning Adventures Preschool in the past.
I want to thank you, the community, for giving ABC Learning Adventures Preschool the opportunity and tremendous honor to teach your children over the past almost thirty years. On behalf of the teachers and myself, we are heartsick over the loss of not being able to share any future school years with your children and your amazing families. We are ever grateful for all of you - for entrusting your children to our care and for the support, love, participation and contributions that you poured into the Preschool, helping to make the Preschool a beacon of love and learning and a fun place for your children.
I wrote this when the Pandemic first started, but still feel it is important today: I hold fast to the belief that God has great plans for every one of your children, for all of our Preschool families, and for the Preschool itself. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite Scripture Verses. It says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Faith is stepping out saying, "I trust you, God and I give you it ALL!" I trust God to bring about beauty from ashes whether it comes to the Pandemic, the many things happening in our country and around the world, or to His plan for the Preschool. I choose to "wait for the Lord; to be strong and to take heart..." Psalm 27:14.
Know that I, as well as the teachers, Ms. Amy and Ms. Amber, and the Preschool Board, send our best regards for your safety, your health, and for peace about the decision. We will miss all of you tremendously.
Much love and in peace,
Leann Lindsay, Director
